Hello there! I’m Christina aka Babe and I love food, traveling, and spending time with my new wife. I adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2015 and wouldn’t have it any other way. I created this blog to share my vegan recipes, travel, and love for life.
I didn’t know I wanted to blog anything until my now wife (still weird to say wife) started sharing the food I made on social media. I was elated to discover that so many people ‘liked’ the food I created. I truly enjoy other people enjoying what I create through pictures. In addition to the social media peeps that liked and commented on her pictures, I was equally as excited to discover that she was proud to share what I made for her. She began almost every post with with the loving “Babe made…“. Thus, an idea was created!
Since going vegan, I have discovered the magic of vegan cooking (I had to). Initially, my meals consisted of over sized smoothies and Asian stir-fries with some store bought sauce. I kid you not…we ate this almost everyday. Making a sauce or dressing from scratch was the last thing on my radar. Something had to change. So through the magic of the Internet, I discovered vegan cooking. I realized that not only is eating plant-based food healthier but its fun!
Cooking vegan food in a primarily meat-eating world forces you to seek alternative ways of cooking tasty plant-based food. Before going vegan, admittedly, I did not think eating veggies full-time could be tasty or delicious. Unfortunately, the perception of vegan food is that it is in fact healthier than eating meat but not as enjoyable. As a former proud meat-eater, through my blog, I hope to change that perception. Not only is vegan food healthier but its also full of flavor, filling and #notboring. Vegan food can be healthy and delicious!
In addition to cooking, I love to travel. It’s almost as if the two go hand-in-hand. Since 2012, my wife and I have traveled to 9 different countries (and counting). While traveling, we have had the privilege to discover new flavors, people, and food. When traveling outside of my own ‘bubble’ I have learned that the standard American diet is not the norm in other countries (obviously, Christina). In some regard, some countries are more open to eating plants as their full-time eating habit.
Adopting a vegan lifestyle has changed my life for the better. My blog is a reflection of that change.
As well as sharing my journey into veganism, I want to share…everything! I’m a newlywed navigating marriage with my new wife, we travel more than we probably should, dine out as often as we can, and I’m in the final stretch of my law school experience. All of these experiences have given birth to, Babe Made.
I welcome all comments and questions! I enjoy answering questions about veganism. Please feel free to utilize the contact link in the menu bar or just leave a comment on a post!
